How I Lost 10 Pounds in 6 Months!

In order to tell you how I lost weight I believe it’s important to know about my body and my history with my weight.

Throughout my life weight has been a huge issue. When I was a kid I was extremely skinny, I hated it and wanted to feel like a girl instead of a little boy.

In high school I was still very small at 98 pounds and 5 feet, since I was a cheerleader with a poor diet I didn’t gain any weight. Once I stopped cheerleading my eating habits still consisted of 1 meal a day from a fast food restaurant and as a result my metabolism slowed down so I began to pack on the pounds.

I began working out. Everything from gym memberships, jump ropes, buying my own elliptical and insanity. I also tried cleaning up my diet, counting calories to make sure I consume the required daily amount. I was exercising 4-5 times a week for an hour. I did see change but the weight would always come back. I decided to just get comfortable with my new body. While interning I kept passing a pole fitness studio. Once I got the courage to go I loved it but I couldn’t afford it. I went without pole for 10 months. When I had the had the money I came back to pole determined. I also bought an at home pole with the hopes of saving money.

Once I began pole consistently I was addicted. In the beginning I would go twice a week then it evolved into twice a week for 2 hours. Eventually I built up to 6 days for 2 hours. I decided to weigh and measure myself and the results were a loss of 10 pounds and a few inches. I found a picture of myself about a month before I decided to go back to pole (which I initial thought was about a year old) and I compared it to a picture I had taken the day before. The results were astounding. As far as my diet, I consumed/consume close to a gallon of water daily and since my issue was not enough meals I decided to set “eat alarms” on my phone to remind me to eat 3 meals and 2 healthy snacks a day in order to bring up my metabolism.
