Start by doing a regular invert then move into the pike. Once in this position, move your hand to your shin and gently pull your leg into the tucked position, I found it easiest to move my right (dominant) leg and arm first, then repeat with the other side. Once both legs are in position you can then wrap your arms around your legs to allow you to curl up and get a more secure grip.
