Stand to the left of the pole, right hand above the left. Lift up as if to invert but go into it so you are still sideways onto the pole (like a side V). Hook your left leg behind the knee and pull the leg back as much as you can. Keep your right hand gripped under your right knee, your left hand should naturally lower down the pole. Bring the left hand higher whilst you bring your right foot onto the pole (toes pointing down) so that your leg is at about a 45 degree angle to the pole. You should then be able to remove your right hand and pull your torso upright. Place your right arm out horizontally and voila!
